Research studies of professors from the Faculty of Medicine are multidisciplinary and directly focused on medical practice. A great deal of them are in collaboration with leading overseas research centers from USA, Japan, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, France, Great Britain, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, and other countries. Lecturers from the faculty have published 159 papers in peer reviewed international research journals and have participated in 109 international Research Conferences and Congresses for the last five years. More than 70 research projects funded by Bulgarian sources (Scientific Research Fund, Sofia University; National Science Fund, etc.), and more than 20 projects funded by international funds are in progress.
