The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, took part in the international conference “10 Years of APACCCEEC: Bridge for Cooperation Between China and the Central and Eastern European Countries”, held on June 26, 2025, in Sofia. The event brought together partners of the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European Countries (APACCCEEC) from government institutions, academia, research circles, and the business sector.
The conference featured five thematic panels, with Assoc. Prof. Georgiev joining the academic panel “Current Status and Future Prospects of China–CEE Relations”. He congratulated Dr. Momchil Stanishev, Director of APACCCEEC, and his team on the anniversary and wished them continued success in launching impactful initiatives and building sustainable partnerships that support international collaboration between Central and Eastern Europe and China.
Assoc. Prof. Georgiev noted that three years ago, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and APACCCEEC signed a Cooperation Agreement. Since then, both institutions have collaborated on numerous initiatives and projects related to the agricultural sector, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
“From the outset, our agreement envisioned joint efforts such as specialized training, conferences, and seminars for university students, as well as internships, field visits, and other practical engagements. One of our key collaboration areas is the development of the master’s program „Innovation and Digital Transformation of Agribusiness“, which has been offered for three years at the Faculty and is gaining more recognition each year”, explained Assoc. Prof. Georgiev.
He added that the Faculty is also a partner of APACCCEEC in organizing the international scientific-practical conference “10 Years of the 16+1 Initiative: Cooperation, Exchange, and Connectivity Among Countries”.
Among last year’s successful joint initiatives, Assoc. Prof. Georgiev highlighted the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Academy, held at the Burgas Branch of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
“I look forward to expanding our partnership within the framework of our new bachelor’s program „International Trade and Investment“, which will welcome its first students this academic year. We count on the Association’s support through guest lectures, student case studies, internship opportunities, and competitions that offer valuable platforms for student development”, concluded Assoc. Prof. Georgiev.
