This is the leading world tendency according to the renowned sociologist Zygmund Bauman. He delivered an open lecture in the Aula on "What is so central about Central Europe".
Prof. Bauman stated that in his view Europe will become an archipelago of diaspores. The locals will live among foreigners without loosing their identity. The perspective before the old continent is to transform into a place of mixed population. The sociologist explained this with the fact that people compete not only with the colleagues they work with, but also worldwide, more and more these days, which triggers a mass migration.
