First and second-year students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration won second place in the football tournament, which is part of the 2024 Rector's Cup. The five students are: captain Angel Paunchev (Business Administration with German, 2nd year), Nikola Kostadinov and Lachezar Todorov (Accounting, Finance, and Digital Applications, 2nd year), and Nikolay Hadzhivanov, Viktor Dimitrov, and Romeo Barzakov (Accounting, Finance, and Digital Applications, 1st year).

In a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, the students discussed their participation in the tournament this year and last year, explored opportunities for supporting the team in future competitions, and displayed the Cup in the Showcase of glory in front of the Dean's Office.

For a month, students from Sofia University showcased their sports abilities on the field of fair play and represented their faculties. The closing ceremony of the sports event "For the Rector's Cup" this year was dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the introduction of sports at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".

The event is organized by the Department of Sports at Alma Mater with the assistance of the Student Council of Sofia University and the Sofia Municipality. It is part of the traditional May Days of Culture at Sofia University.
