The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" in partnership with UBB and "24 Chasa" is organizing the first official presentation of the European sustainability reporting standards for small and medium-sized enterprises in Bulgarian.

At a discussion meeting titled "ESG and the Participation of Small and Medium Businesses in the Transition to Sustainability. European Reporting Standards", representatives from EFRAG, public institutions, and the business sector will discuss the requirements and readiness for implementing the mandatory standard for publicly traded SMEs and the voluntary standard for SME reporting.

The event will take place on May 30, 2024, in Sofia, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Sofia Tech Park, THE VENUE Hall - INCUBATOR.

The standards are expected to support SMEs in:

• Defining accountability requirements that are proportionate and appropriate to the scale and complexity of SME activities;
• Ensuring the availability of standardized sustainability information;
• Avoiding discrimination against them by financial market participants;
• Gaining better access to financing.

The working languages of the event will be English and Bulgarian.
