On May 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM in Hall 200 of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, the second edition of the nationally representative study “Sustainable Consumers Barometer” 2026, conducted by ESG Lab, will be presented.
This year’s edition focuses on young people and their role in the sustainable transformation of society. Under the motto “The Voice of Youth” the study explores how Generation Z perceives issues related to sustainable consumption, social responsibility, climate change, and personal choices in everyday life.
The survey data outlines a generation with clearly defined values and a high level of sensitivity toward issues such as equality, education, and climate policies. 84% of respondents support equal opportunities in education and employment, 82% endorse the “polluter pays” principle, and 78% support measures against climate change. At the same time, the study reveals an interesting paradox — although sustainable development enjoys strong public support, actual sustainable behavior remains more hesitant and dependent on the surrounding environment, infrastructure, and daily habits.
During the event, the main findings of the study will be presented, followed by a discussion with representatives of the business sector, academia, and young leaders on topics related to sustainable consumption, civic engagement, and the future of the green transition in Bulgaria.
