The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University, with its unique expertise and resources, is committed to fostering synergy between the Danube River region's countries in the innovative bio-materials field.

The project "Knowledge Communities to Accelerate the Transfer of Research, Technology and Innovation in the Danube Region - RTIT>>" has a clear goal: to strengthen the innovation potential of SMEs in the field of new materials. By creating a more favourable environment for research, transfer of technologies and innovations in key technological areas of strategic importance for the Danube region, the project aims to foster the use of innovative bio-based materials in forestry, the construction industry, and packaging to reduce food waste. The ultimate outcome is the formation of knowledge communities that support the development of scientific research, technology transfer, and innovation.

RTIT>> lasts 30 months and brings together the efforts of 13 organisations from 8 countries. The project has a total budget of EUR 2,391,220.00. It is implemented with the financial support of the INTERREG VI-B Danube Region Program 2021-2027, the European program for transnational cooperation to promote the sharing and implementation of joint solutions to address common challenges and problems in the Danube Region.
