Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murman Margvelashvili, a leading energy expert in Georgia and a lecturer and director of the Master's program in energy at Ilia State University in Georgia, delivered lectures in the course "Management of Energy and Utility Companies" for students of the Master's program "Energy Markets and Services" at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".

Assoc. Prof. Margvelashvili presented the topic "Green Hydrogen and Its Role in the Energy Transition" in English as part of a mobility agreement under "Erasmus +" concluded last year between the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia.

During his visit, Assoc. Prof. Margvelashvili held meetings with lecturers in the "Management of Energy and Utility Companies" course – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev and Mrs. Iva Petrova (a long-time lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and currently Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria), as well as with the Vice-Dean for International Relations and University Partnership – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marcellin Yovogan. A meeting was also held at Bulgaria's Diplomatic Institute of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Thanks to an online seminar by the Diplomatic Institute a few years ago, the first contacts between the two universities in the field of energy and climate diplomacy and energy economics were established.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murman Margvelashvili is a researcher, lecturer, and internationally recognized expert in energy, with over 35 years of experience in applied and scientific projects. He graduated from the Faculty of Physics at Tbilisi State University in 1978 and obtained a candidate (doctoral) degree at the Moscow Institute for Nuclear Research in 1989. Dr. Margvelashvili conducts theoretical research in high-energy physics in Georgia and abroad and publishes articles in international journals. Since 1994, he has worked in the energy sector of Georgia on infrastructure projects, energy planning, international energy transit, hydropower development, energy reforms, the electricity market, and energy strategies. He has worked for the European Commission and the International Energy Agency in Eastern Bloc countries as an international consultant.

Since 2007, Assoc. Prof. Margvelashvili has been leading the think tank – World Experience for Georgia, which researches and analyzes national and international aspects of energy policy, energy strategy, energy security and planning, climate change, and sustainable energy. He leads the Master's program in Energy Management and Sustainable Development at Ilia State University.
