We are deeply sorry to announce that Prof. Isak Pasi passed away on 13th August, 2010
Prof. Isak Pasi graduated the Faculty of Law and became an assistant professor at the Faculty of Philosophy. At the age of 43 he became a professor. His research is in the field of aesthetics, history of aesthetics, history of Western European literature.
Prof. Pasi had a significant contribution to supporting the Bulgarian culture joining the European philosophical-aesthetics and literature.
He is an author of more than 40 books, editorials of more than 80 volumes and collections; he is also the founder of the collections "Aesthetics and Art Studies" (publishing house "Nauka i izkustvo"/Science and Arts), essays collection (publishing house Georgy Bakalov, Varna), Classical Heritage (Sofia University Press) and others. Isak Psi also supported the issuing works by Cicero and Horatio, Blaise Pascal, Nietzsche, Merezhkovski and many others.
Prof. Pasi was awarded the highest Bulgarian distinction, the Stara Planina Order in 2003 for his fundamental contribution to Bulgarian philosophy, aesthetics and cultural studies, and his merits for Bulgaria. In 2008 he was awarded Sts Cyril and Methodius Order.
Prof. Ilchev, the Rector, awarded Prof. Pasi the highest academic insignia, the Honorary Insignia of Sofia University on 19th March, 2008.
