The official visit is relater to signing a Collaboration Agreement between Sofia University and Kobe University, Japan. The Agreement includes exchange of lecturers, researchers, students, academic information and materials, academic periodicals and journals, as well as joint programmes, organization of conferences and other events.

Kobe University was established in 1902 as Kobe Higher Commercial School. Today, the University comprises a number of cultural and historic heritages aiming at combining the traditions of the Japanese educational system with the innovative international practices and contemporary technologies.
