From November 17 to December 1, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sonia Georgieva and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Zlatinov from the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) conducted a high-level research stay for established scholars at the University of Lille, France. The visit was part of a successful application to a 2024 competition organized by the French Institute in Bulgaria, which funds short-term research stays in France, enabling Bulgarian researchers to collaborate on-site with French scholars.

Together with colleagues from the CLERSE research laboratory (Centre Lillois d’Études et de Recherches Sociologiques et Économiques) at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, Geography, and Planning at the University of Lille, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sonia Georgieva and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Zlatinov studied historical and contemporary trends and processes in international trade between Bulgaria and France. As a result of this academic exchange, a research article is being prepared to address the topics explored.
