On October 8, 2024, a certification course organized by the Center for Educational Services at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and the magazine "Utilities" in partnership with the Association for Production, Storage and Trading of Electricity (APSTE), took place on the topic of "Investment Management in Energy Storage Systems".

The event was the first of its kind and was met with great interest from companies in the energy sector. More than 50 participants registered, allowing them to exchange experiences and knowledge, meet and communicate in an informal environment, and create new partnership opportunities in their business fields.

The initiative featured the lecturers Mariyana Yaneva, Deputy Chair of APSTE; Rositsa Chopeva, Partner at xFigure Finance; Stefana Tsekova, Lawyer at Schoenherr; Krasimir Zhivachki from NEK EAD and Filip Rangelov, Technical Director at International Power Supply (IPS).

All participants completed their course and received certificates presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and Publisher of the magazine "Utilities". Assoc. Prof. Georgiev reminded the students that opportunities for self-improvement and acquiring knowledge are an inexhaustible resource for achieving new horizons and invited them to apply for the master's program "Energy Markets and Services" at FEBA, as well as for the new master's program in English "Nuclear Technologies, Management, and Innovations", created in collaboration with the Faculty of Physics.

After the event, participants visited a demonstration energy storage system in Sofia – an industrial site with a demo system in the production hall of IPS. There, they learned about the specifics of managing investments for energy storage and had the opportunity to ask many questions and engage in useful discussions with the lecturers.
