On January 19, the second edition of the first certification Academy for "Diversity, Equality and Inclusion" in Bulgaria was opened. The training program is organized for the second year in partnership with the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) of the SU "St. Kliment Ohridski", Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria (CWBB) and is implemented with the support of Lidl Bulgaria.
Tsvetanka Mincheva, Chairperson of CWBB, Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of FEBA and Katerina Shopova, Director "Human Resources" of Lidl Bulgaria, officially opened the event. They welcomed the participants with the wish to contribute to the creation and implementation of more and more policies for diversity and inclusion in the environment in Bulgaria.
In 2023, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration was awarded a special distinction in the prestigious "Mark of Quality" competition, organized by the Center for Quality of SU "St. Kliment Ohridski", for the initiation and implementation of the "Diversity, Equality and Inclusion" Academy. FEBA educates foreign students from over 30 countries and thus becomes the most diverse faculty of Sofia University. In the second edition of the Academy, three employees from the administrative staff of FEBA are included. They are responsible for working with foreign students and PhD students, students from partner universities under the Erasmus+ program, and coordinating international projects and training.
The second edition of the “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” Academy will run until 12 April 2024. Тhe seven modules cover the topics of equality, the benefits of inclusion, overcoming unconscious differences and the inclusive role of leadership and communications. In addition to a rich lecture part, the program also has a practical part with exercises and tasks, and a final exam at the end. Each successful participant receives a certificate. Among the speakers in the program are leaders involved in the management of companies such as Siemens, UniCredit Bulbank, The Smarts Group, Yettel, as well as professors from SU "St. Kliment Ohridski".
