Position
- Title: Protocol Assistant
- Location: U.S. Embassy Sofia, Bulgaria
- Salary: BGN 33,929 per year (gross)
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week)
- Contract Type: Permanent
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Ambassador, Deputy Chief of Mission, and Executive Office with protocol tasks.
- Managing administrative tasks, including phone calls, correspondence, and scheduling meetings with the Bulgarian government.
- Event management and logistics, involving high-level participants from the U.S. and Bulgaria.
- Translating official documents between Bulgarian and English.
- Maintaining records, internal databases, and tracking invitations.
- Providing protocol services for in-country travel and VIP visitors.
Requirements
- Education: At least two years of college/university studies.
- Experience: 3 years of administrative, protocol, diplomatic, or event planning experience.
- Languages: Fluent in Bulgarian and English (spoken, written, and reading).
- Skills:Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online tools.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and analytical decision-making.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
