Alma Alter's "Hamlet or three boys and a girl" won the prize for the best play of the International Student Festival "Theatre Case" in Minsk, Belarus.
Alma Alter's team provoked students, theatre experts, culture and anthropology researchers, as well as critics, who took place in the 9th World Congress of the University Theatres.
The performance shows the complex fate of three contemporary boys and a girl. The idea stems from Prof. Yan Kott's, one of the most renounced researchers on Shakespeare, who explores the questions "How to become Hamlet?", "What makes Hamlet who he is?", etc. The play was staged with no decors and lights, with minimum music, but it inspired the participants of the 9th World Congress of the University Theatres. It arose a lot of discussions and commentaries, and was a subject during the workshops, which made the performance a truly significant event.
